Welcome to #MoreMadiba

"Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the world"
- Nelson Mandela

#MoreMadiba Background

#MoreMadiba is a campaign started by Lillian Seema and her partners Makgauta Motsoeneng and Khanyisile Magabe inspired by the precepts of Batho Pele (People First) which encapsulate the spirit of Ubuntu (Humanity) as espoused by the late South African Liberation icon Nelson Mandela. Through understanding the children’s right “Every child has the right to basic nutrition, shelter, basic health care and social services, protection from malnutrition, neglect, abuse or degradation, placed at risk physically, mentally, spiritually, morally or denied education and to be protected in times of armed conflict” and Looking at the socio-economic issues most children go through on a daily basis caused by;
- Unemployed parents
- Lack of basic nutrition
- Lack of basic clothing
- Transportation to and from school
The #MoreMadiba Campaign aims to bridge the gap in most of these issues by sponsoring children around the Tembisa vicinity with basic clothing( Full set school uniforms and other clothing), and providing the much needed motivation and encouragement that every child has the potential to be what they dream to be
There will 23 primary schools involved and each school will provide 50 learners.The total number of learners will 1150 and each learner will pay R50 which will amount to R57 500. The money will be used to cover the expeses of organising the event, buying school uniform and other clothes for two identified disadvantaged learners from each school.
